Daniel Grossman

Counsel


Daniel is a successful litigator and advisor with a breadth of experience in a variety of forums handling employment, complex commercial, and insurance coverage matters for both companies and individuals. Daniel is a member of the firm’s employment practice and advises clients at every step of the employment process, including contract negotiations, severance agreements, and evaluation of discrimination claims. 

Prior to joining Harris St. Laurent & Wechsler, Daniel honed his litigation skills representing Manhattan’s largest commercial property owner, an S&P 500 company, in a variety of insurance coverage disputes and tort claims.  By emphasizing aggressive risk-transfer strategies, Daniel has successfully resolved more than fifty matters in courts across New York. In these and other complex commercial suits, Daniel has taken and defended dozens of depositions, worked with a variety of experts, argued dispositive motions, advocated at mediations, and managed intricate e-discovery matters.  Daniel also has extensive trial and appellate brief-writing experience in both state and federal court.

Daniel’s representative matters include:

  •  Member of trial team in AAA arbitration that secured over $20 million for portfolio manager improperly terminated for cause for possessing and/or failing to escalate material non-public information.

  • Second-chaired JAMS arbitration resulting in an award of $3.8 million for a senior equity analyst improperly terminated for cause for possessing material non-public information as pretext to avoid paying deferred compensation.

  • As lead, secured FINRA arbitration award (100% of claim) for a terminated investment banking Managing Director where the employer refused to pay compensation for restrictive covenant in employment contract.  

Daniel graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2011 where he was an Articles Editor at the Rutgers Law Review. Daniel received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, where he majored in Political Science and Sociology.  

Daniel is admitted to the New York bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
