A fearless and determined advocate, Andrew St. Laurent is not afraid to take on hard cases. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm as a leading criminal defense and commercial litigation attorney.

Mr. St. Laurent has tried over 20 cases to verdict in criminal and civil cases and before arbitrators and juries. He has won full acquittals for clients charged with larceny, fraud, driving intoxicated, and numerous other criminal offenses. His recent victories include the successful defense on appeal in the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals against a contempt finding entered against a client by the United States Bankruptcy Court; the complete dismissals of successive federal and state sexual harassment claims against a supervisory employee of one of New York’s largest employers; and the dismissal of all criminal charges against a client charged with forging prescriptions and unlawful possession of prescription drugs. Mr. St. Laurent regularly appears in New York State and federal courts representing defendants charged by the New York County and Kings County District Attorney’s Offices, the United States Attorney’s Offices for the Southern and Eastern District of New York, as well as plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and employment matters.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as a staff attorney with the Manhattan Criminal Defense Practice of the Legal Aid Society, and previously worked as an associate at prominent white-collar criminal boutique Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, & Anello P.C.

Mr. St. Laurent clerked for the Honorable Allyne R. Ross, the District Court Judge in the Eastern District of New York, the Honorable Diana E. Murphy, the Circuit Court Judge for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

He graduated from Brown University in 1994, and received his law degree from Columbia Law School in 1998.

Mr. St. Laurent was named to The National Trial Lawyers elite list of “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in New York” (2013-2015); Super Lawyers, New York Metro (2013-2017); and was recognized by The National Association of Distinguished Counsel as a Member of the “Nation’s Top One Percent of Counsel” (2015). He is the author of Open Source & Free Software Licensing (O’Reilly 2004) and numerous articles in the area of criminal law, including “In Response to ‘Revisiting Law As A Confidence Game’ by Professor Gilbert Geis”, Criminal Justice Ethics, Vol. 31, No. 1, April 2012, 39-41. He is a member of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association.

He is admitted to the bar of New York, the bars of the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
