HS DEFEATS ATTEMPT TO DISMISS LAWSUIT OVER GLOBAL HOTEL DEAL

HS partner Reid Skibell and counsel Joseph Gallagher defeated an attempt to dismiss on jurisdictional grounds a major lawsuit filed on behalf of an internationally-respected businessman after he was cut out of a deal for the purchase of a global luxury hotel brand. Federal court Judge Cecilia Altonaga, sitting in Miami, agreed with HS that the case should proceed there, since the deal itself closed in Florida and the meeting where the firm’s client was cut out of the deal also took place there.
